🌿 Our Mission
Pioneering Civic Climate Action
Suraksha Setu is an open-source, community-driven citizen reporting system built to bridge the gap between people who see environmental problems and teams who can fix them.
Our Foundation

Three Core Pillars

Everything we build is rooted in these three principles that drive genuine environmental change.

📍

Civic Empowerment

We believe every citizen is an active guardian of their city. Our anonymous one-click reporting puts the power of change directly in your pocket — making civic action simple and seamless.

🤖

AI Diagnostics

No manual categorization needed. Our integrated neural network tags the issue type, estimates severity, and routes it to the nearest NGO automatically, reducing administrative delay to zero.

🌳

Volunteer Mobilization

We coordinate in real-time with over 12 green NGOs and 1,200 local volunteers to convert reports into physical cleanup drives. We turn data into physical green outcomes.

Success Stories

Case Study Success Stories

Real reports that became real action — documented from submission to resolution.

✓ Resolved May 2026

Sadar Market Oasis

A massive, 2-ton commercial garbage dump that blocked the entrance of Sadar Market for over two years was reported on Suraksha Setu. In partnership with GreenHaldwani, volunteers cleared the space in 3 days, sanitised the soil, and planted native bushes, transforming it into a micro green zone.

✓ Cleaned April 2026

Yamuna Ghat Restoration

A high-priority water pollution report flagged a toxic plastic and foam barrier building up along Yamuna riverbanks. Within 48 hours, over 120 volunteer students were mobilised. Using safety gear, they removed 1,800kg of plastic bottles, restoring local river flow.

✓ Segregated March 2026

Taj Nagri Segment B Drive

A neighborhood report highlighted scattered plastic packets that filled local children parks. In response, SwachhBharat volunteers helped setup colored segregation bins across the park, training children on active sorting while clearing the existing playground trash.

1. What data does Suraksha Setu collect?
We are built on a strict privacy-first philosophy. We do not require accounts, phone numbers, email registration, or social sign-ins. When you report an issue, we only store:

• The text description you write
• The selected issue category
• The latitude and longitude of the issue
• The uploaded photo(s)

No user browser metadata, session cookies, tracking pixels, or device fingerprints are compiled or recorded.
2. How is my GPS location used?
When you snap a photo or request coordinates, the platform prompts for standard browser GPS coordinates to place the issue pin accurately on the Live Map.

This spatial data is used solely to route reports to local NGOs. We never run background location services, track your movement, or store personal coordinates outside the specific, visible reported issue area.
3. How does the AI image scanner protect my identity?
Your uploaded images are processed by our localized computer vision module to classify categories (e.g. plastic waste, water discoloration) and score priorities.

To protect public identity, our AI automatically blurs any detected human faces, license plates, or legible resident address numbers before they are saved to our public community database.
4. How is data shared with NGOs and Municipalities?
All submitted reports are displayed on the public Live Map and Community Feed. Partner NGOs and green municipalities receive access to these coordinates and photos so they can plan cleanup logistics.

We are non-commercial and open source. We never sell, lease, or rent any reported data to advertising networks, corporate agencies, or third-party data hubs.
5. How long is my data retained?
Active reports are retained indefinitely on the public map to maintain historical community records. Resolved reports are archived after 180 days and removed from the live map view.

Unverified reports (not confirmed by an admin within 30 days) are automatically purged, including any uploaded images.
6. How can I request deletion of my report?
Since we don't store accounts, deletion requests are handled via your unique Report ID (provided after submission). Email privacy@ecowarrior.org with your Report ID and we will permanently delete the report and all associated images within 72 hours — no questions asked.
